History of the ensemble

Our ensemble's name is inspired by the Inguri River, located in Georgia.

It strikes with its mesmerizing beauty and genuine mountain temperament, breathing life into the spirit of anyone who connects with its purity and grace.

Each member of the ensemble strives to embody this very quality, expressing all the energy and love that overflows when they hear their native melodies.

The heart of our ensemble, its core group, was formed long before the ensemble itself. These dancers have been performing together for 15 years, starting from a very young age.

The dancers deliver their exhilarating performances not only thanks to rigorous rehearsals. Each of them senses the others on stage as if they were kindred spirits, striving to fully express their skill and passion for the joy of the audience.

The "Inguri" Ensemble began its independent career in 2018 and has since garnered positive acclaim and established itself as a respected presence among other folk -dance companies.

I always tell my students, «You are much stronger than you think and far more beautiful in your movement than you realize.» And every time they start to believe this, I understand — it is for these moments that I teach dance.
